Dear Neighbor,
My name is Eric Morelli and I want to be your next State Assemblyman. Nevada is facing budget shortfalls as never seen before. I am a life long resident to Las Vegas. I cannot remember a time when the Legislators of Nevada have done such a terrible job in deciding the budget.
There is a minority who try to get the job done. However, the majority assembly want to raise our taxes to cover the mistakes of their own doing. Thus punishing the people they represent.
When called upon to balance the budget, the Majority cried out that it could wait until the next regular session.
I do not think that is acceptable behavior for legislators. The government is supposed to protect its people. During a physical or a financial threat like the one we are in now, we should expect our government to live and function with in its own means.
We as citizens do this every day. When times get a little tight we cut back here and there to put food on the table for our family. We cut back on some of the things we do not need, but may want, because we have to. That is how we people get by every day.
We must expect the government to do the same. We must hold the government accountable for its actions. What we need is someone looking out for the people. I am that person. I will be the one to hold the government accountable. I will see to it that any surplus in the budget is not spent for the sake of spending it.

Preserving our liberties and freedoms is the key to how we as Nevadans and Americans live. We can not afford to allow the government to come into our lives and tell us how to live, where to live and what we can and can not do to live our lives. Preserving these liberties is duty of each and everyone of us. Together we will keep our liberty and continue our pursuit of Life , Liberty and Happiness.
The Constitution is the back bone of our country. I will uphold the constitution and fight for the rights of all Nevadans.
As a native to Las Vegas I will fight for a better education for our children. I will fight to give more control to the Principals and Teachers. Each Principal and Teacher need to be able to educate our children on the basics. Children need to know these. Too many restraints are put upon our educators today that it becomes harder for them to do their job. I will fight for more accountability in our schools and fight to empower our Teachers and Principals. I will fight to reduce class size. My children are in the Clark County School system and I want the best possible education for them as I am sure you do for your children. Nevada students deserve the best education possible.
Health care costs keep going up. I do not want to see this become a major burden for Nevada families. I will fight to ensure health care is more affordable, there by relieving the costly expense on Nevada families.
Keeping our neighborhoods safe is the priority of everyone. I will work to make sure that there are enough well trained Firefighters, Police Officers and Emergency Services personnel. Keeping up with the growth in Las Vegas in these areas is key to helping keep our community safe.
